A shooting near the Salsa on St. Clair festival in Toronto on Saturday evening resulted in the deaths of two men and injuries to four others, according to police. The incident occurred around 8:12 p.m. near St. Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue, where the festival was taking place.

Toronto Police Deputy Chief Frank Barredo reported that investigators recovered two firearms at the scene. No arrests had been made by the time of a late-night news conference. Initially, there was concern about an active shooter, but police later confirmed that the situation involved an exchange of gunfire between two individuals targeting each other. A significant police presence remained in the area following the incident, which has drawn attention from local officials, including Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow and Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who expressed their condolences to the victims and their families.
