Two Arrested in Ventura County for Luxury Car Theft Ring
Detectives in Ventura County have arrested two men, Brandon Taylor and John Ivy, on charges of stealing high-end luxury cars, including Lamborghinis and Porsches, from across Southern California. The arrests occurred on July 1 following a weeks-long investigation that began with the theft of a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray from a Thousand Oaks dealership in May. The Stingray was valued at $105,000.
Both suspects face charges of unlawful taking of a vehicle and second-degree burglary, with enhancements due to their prior criminal records. The investigation, conducted by multiple law enforcement units, led to the recovery of vehicles valued at approximately $1.3 million, including a Lamborghini Aventador worth $450,000 and a BMW X7 M60i valued at $110,000. Taylor and Ivy were initially held on $250,000 bail but were released on their own recognizance on Monday, according to court records.
