Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Tie the Knot at Madison Square Garden
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with the ceremony officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, who is a friend of the couple. The event was attended by approximately 1,000 guests, including notable figures such as actors Hugh Grant and Jason Sudeikis, and soccer star Abby Wambach.
Swift's representative confirmed that the couple did not have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as her 'Man of Honor,' while Kelce's brother, Jason Kelce, was the best man. Swift wore a wedding dress designed by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
Following the ceremony, a jumbotron outside Madison Square Garden displayed the message 'JUST&T MARRIED!' The Empire State Building also lit up in 'something blue' in celebration of the couple's union. The wedding festivities included a cocktail hour, a ceremony, and a reception expected to last into the early hours of Saturday.
Security was tight, with 135 officers from the New York City Police Department assigned to the venue. Police barricades were set up to manage crowds of onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of the event. A rehearsal dinner was held at Madison Square Garden the previous evening, attended by around 100 family and friends.
Details about the interior decorations of the venue remain scarce, but reports indicated that extensive preparations were made to transform Madison Square Garden for the occasion, likened to a 'blockbuster movie' by celebrity event planners.
