Two Children Hospitalized After Dog Attack in San Antonio
Two juvenile males were hospitalized following a dog attack at their home on the 8100 block of Sheldon Trail in San Antonio on Monday around 4:30 p.m. Deputies responded to reports of an animal bite and discovered that both children had sustained major facial injuries from two family dogs.
According to deputies, one child was attacked by a dog while attempting to intervene, leading to a second dog attacking the other child. The incident appeared unprovoked, as the children were reportedly playing when the attacks occurred.
The children were transported to University Hospital in stable condition and are expected to survive. Both dogs involved in the incident have been taken into custody by Bexar County Animal Control for quarantine. Investigators noted that the dogs do not have a history of violent behavior and are treating the situation as an accident.
