State Police Investigate Fatal Collision Between UPS Truck and E-Bike in Southampton Township
SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A teenager riding an e-bike was struck and killed by a UPS delivery truck on Tuesday morning, New Jersey State Police confirmed. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tranquility Court.
According to state police, the teenager was operating the e-bike in the area of 3 Tranquility Court when the crash took place. Authorities have not yet released the identity, age, or gender of the victim, and the specific circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
A spokesperson for UPS released a statement expressing condolences following the incident. "We are heartbroken by the tragic accident in Southampton Township, NJ. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones," the spokesperson said. The company stated it is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials but declined to comment further, citing the active investigation.
New Jersey State Police have not released additional details regarding the driver of the UPS truck or whether any charges are expected. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
