First Responders Stabilize Swimmer After Near-Drowning at Skokie Water Playground

A person is recovering after being rescued during a near-drowning incident at a Skokie, Illinois, swimming pool on Saturday afternoon. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2 p.m. following reports of a water emergency.

The incident occurred at the Skokie Water Playground , located near the intersection of Oakton Street and Skokie Boulevard. According to the Skokie Police Department, first responders arrived quickly and immediately initiated lifesaving measures on the individual at the scene.

Following the initial emergency treatment, the person was transported to an area hospital. Police officials confirmed that the individual was stabilized by medical staff and was continuing to recover as of Sunday.
