Harris County Man Charged with Arson After Allegedly Setting Fire in Constable Patrol Car

A 26-year-old man faces multiple charges after he allegedly set a fire inside a Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office patrol vehicle. Nzigo Pierre was charged with arson and harassment of a public servant following the incident, according to Harris County court records.

The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office reported that the incident began when Pierre allegedly began spitting on deputies. In response, authorities placed a mask on Pierre to stop the behavior. While seated in the back of the patrol car, Pierre reportedly used a lighter to set the mask on fire. Officials described the resulting fire as small.

Court records reveal that Pierre has a history of prior arrests involving the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office . His previous criminal history includes charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and assault against a government contractor.

While the specific circumstances leading to the initial police contact with Pierre have not been disclosed, he is currently facing the new felony and misdemeanor counts in Harris County. The investigation into the patrol car fire remains active as the case moves through the court system.
