Scottsdale Police Arrest Four Suspects in April Drive-By Shooting at Rental Home

Scottsdale police have arrested four men in connection with a drive-by shooting at a short-term rental property that occurred earlier this year. The suspects, identified as Gabriel Lunyerere , Kywan Jones , Jamir Smith , and Michel “Ray” Kasereka , were taken into custody following an investigation into the late-night incident in south Scottsdale.

The shooting took place shortly before 11 p.m. on April 12. According to police, several adults were inside the rental home at the time of the attack, but no one was struck by gunfire. Officers arriving at the scene discovered multiple bullet strikes on the exterior of the residence, including damage near the front door and windows, and found numerous shell casings scattered throughout the immediate area.

Detectives used a combination of surveillance footage, forensic evidence, and social media activity to identify the four suspects. During the course of the investigation, authorities served multiple search warrants and recovered several firearms. Scottsdale Police Chief Joe LeDuc credited the department's analysts and tactical teams for their role in identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible for the shooting.

Investigators stated the shooting may have been a retaliatory act following an armed robbery that occurred earlier that same day in Phoenix. The four men now face charges related to the incident, marking the latest development in a case that involved coordination between Scottsdale detectives and support personnel.
