San Antonio Man Hospitalized After Attempting to Break Up Fight

A 64-year-old man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being shot while attempting to break up a physical altercation on San Antonio’s Southwest Side. According to the San Antonio Police Department , the shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Whitewood Road.

Investigators stated that the victim encountered two males engaged in a fight and stepped in to intervene. During the dispute, one of the males shot the man before fleeing the area. Officers arrived at the scene to find the victim injured, but the suspect had already left the location, police said.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Officials confirmed he was in stable condition following the incident. As of Saturday morning, no descriptions of the shooter or the other individual involved in the fight have been released by authorities.
