Man Fatally Shot, Three Women Wounded in Little Village Shooting
A fatal shooting in the Little Village neighborhood claimed the life of a man and left three women injured on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The attack occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West 26th Street, where a group of four people was standing near the sidewalk. Authorities reported that an unidentified individual fired several shots, striking all four victims.
A 46-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released his identity.
The three women wounded in the incident were all taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. One woman, whose age was not immediately known, sustained a gunshot wound to her lower back and was considered to be in critical condition. A 25-year-old woman was treated for a gunshot wound to her face and was listed in fair condition. The third victim, aged 47, suffered a gunshot wound to her arm and was also reported in fair condition.
No arrests have been announced. Area 4 detectives are conducting an investigation into the shooting. The incident adds to ongoing concerns about gun violence in the area. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation continues.
