A fire in Chicago's Austin neighborhood swept through three residences on Monday morning, leaving more than 20 people without homes, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 4700 block of West Fulton Street shortly after 9 a.m., following reports of a rapidly spreading blaze near the Cicero Avenue Green Line station. Authorities said the fire began in a single house and quickly extended to two adjacent properties. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames just before midday.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, officials confirmed. One of the affected homes sustained extensive damage, with firefighters describing it as nearly destroyed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details regarding how the fire may have started. All residents of the damaged properties have been displaced as recovery efforts begin.
