Fatal Stabbing in Burbank Leaves One Woman Dead, Another Injured; Suspect Sought
A stabbing inside a residence on North Brighton Street in Burbank early Monday morning resulted in the death of one woman and left another hospitalized, according to police.
Burbank Police said they responded to the 2800 block of North Brighton Street around 6 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found two women with stab wounds inside the home. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the hospitalized woman’s injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities conducted a search of the surrounding neighborhood but did not locate a suspect matching the description provided. The relationship between the suspect and the victims is still under investigation, police stated.
Detectives are actively gathering evidence in the area and are reviewing available surveillance footage as part of their ongoing investigation. The name of the woman who died has not yet been released, pending notification of her next of kin by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
