Chicago Authorities Seek Suspect After Attempted Sexual Assault on Blue Line Train

Police in Chicago are actively searching for a suspect following an attempted sexual assault that occurred early Saturday on a westbound CTA Blue Line train in the Austin neighborhood.

According to law enforcement officials, a woman was riding between the Cicero and Austin stations when she was confronted by a man who was visibly exposing himself and making explicit comments. The man then physically attacked her and attempted to sexually assault her before fleeing at the Austin station, police stated.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 40s, with a medium build, short black hair, and a full beard. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a black unzipped jacket, a white t-shirt, dark jeans adorned with red and blue bandanas hanging from the back pockets, and white gym shoes, investigators reported.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the incident or the identity of the suspect to contact Area 4 detectives at (312) 746-8251. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the department’s online portal.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the individual involved in this assault. No arrests have been made as of Sunday.
