Chicago Sky Add Jordan Hobbs and Sidney Cooks to Training Camp Roster
The Chicago Sky have brought in guard Jordan Hobbs and forward Sidney Cooks on training camp contracts as they prepare for the upcoming WNBA season. The signings increase the team's roster to 19 players, taking advantage of a temporary roster opening created by center Elizabeth Williams' overseas commitments.
Hobbs, selected 34th overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft, spent the recent offseason playing for Italian club San Martino, where she averaged 12.6 points per game and shot 38.1 percent from three-point range. Although originally drafted by the Seattle Storm, Hobbs did not secure a spot on their final roster.
Cooks arrives in Chicago after a productive stint with the Shaanxi Red Wolves in China, where she posted averages of 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. In addition to her professional experience abroad, Cooks played collegiate basketball at Michigan State, Mississippi State, and Seton Hall, compiling career averages of 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 35.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
The Sky are allowed to have up to 18 players participating in training camp at one time. With Williams currently competing in the EuroLeague semifinals, Chicago can utilize the vacant spot until her return. According to league rules, Williams must report to training camp by May 1 as part of the WNBA’s prioritization requirements for veteran players.
Chicago's training camp is set to open on April 19 at UIC’s Flames Athletic Center. The team will evaluate a mix of returning players and new additions as they finalize their roster for the season ahead.
As camp approaches, the status of Williams' return remains a key storyline. The Sky have not announced any further roster decisions as of now.
