Billy Crystal Set to Premiere New One-Man Broadway Show Inspired by Home Lost in LA Wildfires

Billy Crystal will debut a new one-man show on Broadway this fall, drawing from personal tragedy after losing his longtime Los Angeles home in last year’s devastating wildfires. The production, titled “860” after the street address of Crystal’s family residence, is scheduled to begin previews in October at a yet-to-be-announced theater.

The forthcoming performance marks Crystal’s first time on Broadway since his Tony-nominated musical “Mr. Saturday Night” in 2022. Renowned director Scott Ellis is attached to helm the new work, which promises to deliver a mix of humor and heartfelt reflection as Crystal invites audiences into the story of the house where he and his family lived for 46 years.

The inspiration for “860” stems from the impact of the Palisades and Eaton wildfires, which began on January 7, 2025. The fires, which burned for over three weeks, resulted in 31 fatalities and destroyed approximately 13,000 homes, including Crystal’s. The cleanup and recovery effort continued for seven months following the disaster.

Crystal publicly spoke about the loss at the televised FireAid fundraising concert later that January, describing the emotional toll of returning to the ruins of his home. He recounted finding solace in a rock inscribed with the word “Laughter,” discovered among the debris by his daughters.

With a career spanning stand-up comedy, film, and previous one-man stage successes such as “700 Sundays,” Crystal’s new show is positioned to offer both personal insight and broader reflections on resilience in the face of loss.

Information about ticket sales and the Manhattan venue is expected to be announced soon. As of now, “860” is set to begin previews in October, with further details forthcoming.
