Three Men Wounded in Drive-By Shooting in Chicago's New City Neighborhood

Three men were wounded during a drive-by shooting in Chicago's New City neighborhood on Sunday evening, according to police.

The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Laflin Street. Authorities stated that the victims, all men, were standing near the sidewalk when an unidentified vehicle approached them. Two occupants of the car drew handguns and opened fire, striking all three individuals.

The victims included a 29-year-old man who was shot in the hand and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition. A 30-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, also in fair condition. The third victim, aged 31, was shot in the arm and received treatment at the same hospital, with his condition reported as fair.

Sunday night's shooting marks another act of gun violence in the city, highlighting ongoing concerns over public safety in several Chicago neighborhoods.

Area detectives have launched an investigation, and no suspects had been apprehended as of Monday morning.
