Murder Investigation Launched After Fatal Assault Outside Bournemouth Bar
Police in Bournemouth have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 40s died following an alleged assault outside MyBar on Charminster Road during the early hours of Monday.
According to Dorset Police, officers responded to reports of an assault at around 3am and discovered a man from Christchurch at the scene. Despite efforts to help, the man died there.
Authorities have arrested three men in connection with the incident: two from Bournemouth, aged 37 and 46, and a 34-year-old from Poole. Their identities have not been released pending further investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Jenkins of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team stated that a thorough inquiry is underway to determine the sequence of events. “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died and a detailed investigation is under way to establish what happened,” Jenkins said.
An extensive police cordon has been established at the scene, and law enforcement is asking for the public’s cooperation while forensic work is carried out. Officers urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information—especially those with dashcam footage from Charminster Road around the time of the assault—to come forward.
The public can expect an increased police presence in the area in the coming days as the investigation continues. Dorset Police encourages anyone with information or concerns to approach officers directly at the scene or contact authorities via official channels.
The current status of the case is that three suspects remain in custody, and police are gathering evidence to piece together the circumstances of the fatal assault. The investigation is ongoing.
