Woman Killed in Drive-By Shooting on San Antonio's South Side
A 40-year-old woman was fatally shot in a drive-by incident on Burton Avenue in San Antonio, Texas, early Friday morning, according to San Antonio police.
Officers responded around 12:45 a.m. to the 900 block of Burton Avenue, near Aaron Place, after reports of gunfire. Police stated that at least one suspect inside a white vehicle—possibly a Toyota Prius—fired multiple rounds at a corner house on the street.
According to authorities, one bullet penetrated the house’s walls, striking the woman in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors indicated the residence is a duplex, and the woman lived there with her partner.
Investigators recovered several shell casings outside the home. Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots during the incident. The suspect vehicle fled the area immediately after the shooting, police said.
San Antonio Police Department officials confirmed the investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests had been reported as of Friday morning.
