Houston Rockets Secure Dominant 111-94 Victory Over New York Knicks
The Houston Rockets built a commanding early lead and defeated the New York Knicks 111-94 on Tuesday night, marking their third consecutive victory at the Toyota Center.
Houston surged ahead by scoring 37 points in the first quarter and never trailed, maintaining a double-digit advantage throughout most of the contest. The Rockets led by 20 entering the fourth quarter and held a 19-point lead with two minutes remaining before both teams substituted their benches.
Kevin Durant led all scorers with 27 points, fueling Houston’s strong start alongside Tari Eason, who contributed 17 points and eight rebounds after moving into the starting lineup. Every Rockets starter recorded at least 13 points, with Amen Thompson matching Eason’s 17 points. Jabari Smith Jr. added 15 points, while Alperen Sengun tallied 13 points and dished out a team-high 10 assists. Reed Sheppard also made an impact off the bench with 20 points and five rebounds.
The Knicks attempted to rally behind a third-quarter three-pointer by Jalen Brunson that cut the deficit to 12, but turnovers led to a seven-point Rockets run that widened the gap. Karl-Anthony Towns posted 22 points and eight rebounds for New York, as the team dropped its third straight game after a previous seven-game winning streak. Each of these losses has come by double digits.
Next, the Knicks are scheduled to visit Memphis on Wednesday night, while the Rockets will host the Milwaukee Bucks. The result continues Houston’s recovery from a two-game skid and underscores their recent momentum as the regular season progresses.
