CTA Red Line stabbing injures two passengers in Fuller Park

CTA Red Line stabbing left two men wounded early Wednesday, March 25, 2026, after an argument aboard a south-side train in the Fuller Park neighborhood of Chicago, authorities reported. The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. and prompted a police response to the area.

According to Chicago police, the attack took place about 1:25 a.m. in the 200 block of West 47th Street when a male passenger, following a confrontation, used a sharp object to stab two other male passengers in the neck. Both victims were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were each listed in fair condition. Area 1 detectives have opened an active investigation into the incident.

Officials released limited information about a suspect or motive as detectives continue their probe. The Red Line is a principal north-south transit route serving Chicago’s South Side, and the shooting on a moving train underscores ongoing public-safety concerns around transit corridors. Police said they will review available evidence and surveillance as part of the investigation and asked anyone with information to contact Area 1 detectives through official Chicago Police channels.
