Epstein's Longtime Accountant to Face Congressional Questioning in Closed-Door Hearing
Richard Kahn, an accountant who worked alongside Jeffrey Epstein for over a decade and later became an executor of his estate, is set to testify in a private session before the House Oversight Committee. Kahn managed Epstein's finances, investments, and property operations — including renovations on Epstein's private Caribbean island — and is considered one of the disgraced financier's closest professional associates in his final years.
Kahn's appearance marks the first of two expected testimonies from Epstein estate executors. Lawyer Darren Indyke, the second executor, is scheduled to testify on March 19. Survivors of Epstein's abuse have identified both men as central figures in navigating the elaborate financial infrastructure that supported Epstein's operations. Internal banking records and personal emails made public through a congressionally mandated Department of Justice document release reveal that both Kahn and Indyke maintained close oversight of Epstein's vast financial dealings.
Following subpoenas issued in January, an attorney representing both men firmly denied any wrongdoing, stating that no victim has ever accused either man of committing or witnessing sexual abuse, nor of knowingly facilitating Epstein's trafficking activities. Despite this, Kahn and Indyke recently reached a settlement in a civil lawsuit alleging their involvement in arranging sham marriages between Epstein's foreign-born victims and American citizens for immigration purposes.
Kahn's testimony comes amid a broader congressional investigation that has already drawn in several prominent figures. Former President Bill Clinton denied knowledge of Epstein's crimes during a February 27 deposition — the first time a former U.S. president was compelled to testify before Congress. Billionaire Les Wexner claimed he was deceived by Epstein, while Ghislaine Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment rights and declined to answer questions during a virtual committee appearance.
