Suspect Turns Himself In After December 2 Shooting
On December 19, 2025, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials reported that 31-year-old Jaivone Jackson turned himself in to authorities in connection with a deadly shooting in downtown Las Vegas. Police stated that Jackson surrendered at the Clark County Detention Center.
The incident under investigation occurred on December 2 in the early morning hours, at approximately 2 a.m., in the 400 block of South 15th Street near Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas. According to police, they received reports that a man had been shot in that area.
Victim Transported to Hospital and Later Died
When officers arrived at the reported location on South 15th Street, they found a man in the front yard of a house suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported the man to a hospital. Police reported that the victim later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials stated that Jackson faces an open murder charge and a robbery charge in connection with the December 2 shooting. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the incident in this announcement.
Upcoming Court Hearing and Request for Information
Police said that Jackson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court on January 5. The case remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section.
