Haridwar Hotel Raid: 19 Arrested in Anti-Human Trafficking Operation
Anti-Human Trafficking Cell Frees Minor, Seizes Illegal Items
In a major crackdown, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell raided a hotel in Haridwar's Kaliyar area, arresting 19 individuals, including eight women. The operation also led to the rescue of a minor and the seizure of various objectionable items from the hotel rooms.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell had been receiving reports about ongoing illicit activities at Hotel Rehmat Sabri in Kaliyar. Acting on this information, Cell in-charges Rakhi Rawat and Jyoti Negi, along with local police, conducted a raid at night. The hotel manager and owner were apprehended as they tried to flee the scene.
During the raid, the police found eight women and 11 men in compromising positions across different hotel rooms. The minor rescued was being forced into illegal activities. All detainees, including the rescued minor, were taken to the police station for further questioning.
Station House Officer Dilbar Singh Negi confirmed that a case has been registered against hotel owner Mustafa, manager Adil, and several other individuals. The arrested individuals include Danish from Bhopal, Shaukat from Saharanpur, Salmi from Moradabad, Wasim from Muzaffarnagar, Soni from Shahjahanpur, Aslam from Muradabad, Alijan from Jhabreda, Ajay alias Kala, and Pushpendra from Kishanpur.
This is not the first time Mustafa has been involved in such activities. He was previously arrested for similar offenses in 2017 and twice in 2018, and has also faced action under the Gangster Act in 2018.
