Woman Shot While Riding in Vehicle on Chicago’s Southwest Side

A 23-year-old woman was shot and critically injured on Friday evening while she was inside a vehicle traveling on the Southwest Side of Chicago, according to Chicago police.

Police said the shooting occurred at approximately 7:21 p.m. in the 600 block of West 23rd Place in the Little Village neighborhood. The woman was a passenger in a moving vehicle when an unidentified person fired shots, striking her in the back of the head.

Victim Hospitalized in Critical Condition

Following the shooting, the woman was transported to a hospital. Chicago police reported that she was in critical condition after being shot in the back of the head. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
