Hyderabad Man Loses ₹12 Lakh in FedEx Parcel Scam, Cyber Police Investigate
A 23-year-old resident of Hyderabad fell victim to a fraudulent scheme, losing ₹12 lakh after receiving a deceptive call from individuals posing as representatives of FedEx. The case has been registered with the Cyber Crimes police in Hyderabad.
According to reports, the scam began when the victim received a call informing him that his Aadhaar number was being misused for sending a parcel from Mumbai to Saudi Arabia containing illicit substances. The perpetrators, masquerading as officials from Mumbai Cyber Crime, coerced the victim into believing his involvement and demanded money transfers under the pretext of verifying his details.
Despite the victim's willingness to cooperate and prove his innocence, he was manipulated into transferring the substantial sum as part of a supposed investigation. The incident underscores the sophisticated tactics employed by cyber criminals to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
