Kings Announce Injury to Domantas Sabonis and Return of Keegan Murray

The Sacramento Kings confirmed that forward Keegan Murray will make his season debut while center Domantas Sabonis will be sidelined with an injury before the team’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies in Sacramento, California.

Keegan Murray Returns After Thumb Surgery

According to the team, Keegan Murray is available to play after missing the first 15 games of the season. Murray had been recovering from offseason thumb surgery and had not appeared in any regular-season games prior to the upcoming matchup against Memphis.

The Kings had been anticipating Murray’s return as he completed his recovery timeline. His re-entry into the lineup marks his first on-court appearance of the 2025–2026 season.

Domantas Sabonis Diagnosed With Partially Torn Meniscus

While Murray is set to return, the Kings announced that Domantas Sabonis was ruled out of the game due to knee soreness. Further evaluation revealed the specific nature of his injury.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Sabonis has been diagnosed with a partially torn meniscus in his left knee. The Kings stated that he will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks. The organization did not specify a return date and indicated that the evaluation window does not guarantee a timeline for his return to play.

Sabonis was photographed competing in games earlier in November at the Golden 1 Center, including matchups on November 9 and November 12, 2025.

Kings Adjust Lineup Following Injury

With Sabonis unavailable, the Kings expect Precious Achiuwa to take the starting center position. The team has not announced additional rotational changes related to the injury.

The Sacramento Kings continue to navigate roster adjustments as they prepare for their game against the Memphis Grizzlies. No further updates regarding Sabonis’s recovery timeline were provided.
