Four People Shot, One Killed in Houston, Texas, United States

Four people were shot early Sunday morning in Houston, resulting in one death and multiple injuries, according to the Houston Police Department.

Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu said police received reports that two gunshot victims arrived at a hospital at 5:06 a.m. on Sunday. The victims told authorities they were shot at the Caribe Sport Bar, located at 6916 Rampart Street in Houston, Texas.

Officers responded to the location but observed “activity” inside that led them to believe the shooting did not occur at the Caribe Sport Bar. Authorities did not specify what type of activity was observed.

At 5:59 a.m., approximately one block away, officers responded to another reported shooting at 6909 Ashcroft Drive. Police found two individuals with gunshot wounds at the scene. One victim was in critical condition, and the other was pronounced dead at the location.

Assistant Chief Cantu stated that investigators are working to determine the sequence of events and the exact location where the shootings occurred. She said there is confusion surrounding whether all four people were shot at the same place and time.

According to local news reports, the business at 6909 Ashcroft Drive, Suite 316, had no visible signage. The glass front door was shattered, and blood was visible nearby. A woman identifying herself as a victim’s sister said a nearby truck with a flat tire belonged to one of the victims.

Residents in the area told reporters that all four victims were shot during the same incident at the Ashcroft Drive business. The business reportedly operates late into the night.

The owner of the Ashcroft Drive business confirmed the shooting by phone but stated that his business is a restaurant and bar, not an after-hours club.

Assistant Chief Cantu said investigators are also examining why emergency services were not called sooner. She emphasized the importance of notifying authorities immediately during violent incidents, noting that delays in reporting could impact survival outcomes.

The investigation into the Houston nightclub shooting remains ongoing.
