Actor Arrested After Woman Shot in Road Rage Incident in New Jersey

A 46-year-old actor, Ernest Heinz, has been arrested after allegedly shooting a woman in the face during a road rage incident in Galloway Township, New Jersey, United States. Police said the incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. when the woman was struck by a bullet at a red light.

According to a preliminary report, the suspect cut the woman off while she attempted to merge lanes. Once both vehicles reached the intersection, Heinz allegedly cursed at the woman, threatened to kill her, and fired a single shot through his car window. The bullet struck the victim in the upper nose.

Despite her injuries, the woman was able to talk with officers at the scene and recount the series of events leading up to the shooting. She told investigators that Heinz had displayed aggressive behavior moments before the confrontation escalated.

Captain Mark D’Esposito of the Galloway Township Police confirmed that the victim identified the suspect and provided details that aligned with witness accounts. “As they approached the light, the male yelled at her, reached his hand out the window and fired a single shot,” D’Esposito said.

Following the shooting, Heinz fled into the nearby campus of Stockton University. The situation prompted authorities to place the university under lockdown for several hours as police searched for the suspect. Eventually, Heinz was arrested at a residence without further incident.

Law enforcement reported that the suspect remained silent after his arrest but matched the description provided by the victim. Police also said that multiple pieces of evidence linked him to the crime.

Heinz now faces charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and additional weapons-related offenses. The victim’s condition has not been released, though she survived the initial attack. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
