San Antonio Woman Charged With Child Sexual Abuse as Police Seek Additional Victims


Authorities have filed criminal charges against a woman in San Antonio in connection with a case involving the sexual abuse of a child. Investigators say they are actively working to determine whether other victims may also be involved.

The woman has been identified as Crystal Celestina Candia, age 39. She has been charged under state law with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child. In addition to the state charge, she is also facing a federal charge of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

Officials confirmed that the case has been investigated jointly by the San Antonio Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and the FBI Task Force. According to statements from law enforcement, the investigation began after authorities received a report about child abuse material involving a child who was within Candia’s reach.

Detectives and federal agents have worked together on the case, reviewing the reported material and following investigative leads. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the evidence or the child involved, citing the sensitivity of the case and the ongoing nature of the investigation.
