Multiple Injured in Major Crash Involving Pace Bus and Cars on Chicago's Far South Side
A serious multi-vehicle collision involving a Pace bus and several passenger cars sent nine people to the hospital on Wednesday evening in the West Pullman neighborhood on Chicago’s Far South Side.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Halsted and Vermont streets shortly after 7:25 p.m. According to officials, the crash involved four vehicles, including a Pace suburban transit bus, triggering an immediate emergency response from local police, fire, and medical personnel.
Among those injured, five victims were transported in serious-to-critical condition, while four others were reported to be in good condition. Authorities confirmed that one of the victims is a child, though details on their age and injuries were not immediately released.
Emergency crews dispatched ambulances to multiple area hospitals. The injured were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the University of Chicago Medical Center, Comer Children’s Hospital, Roseland Community Hospital, and OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park.
