Man Critically Injured After Falling from San Francisco High-Rise in Russian Hill


A man is in critical condition after plunging from a high-rise building in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood on Saturday evening, landing on an awning several stories below. The dramatic fall happened at approximately 4:54 p.m. at 1000 Green Street, prompting an urgent response from the San Francisco Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the man lying on a large awning attached to the building’s facade. Using ladders and rescue equipment, crews carefully reached the injured man and safely brought him down. By 5:20 p.m., he had been transported by ambulance to a local trauma center for emergency medical treatment.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the man sustained life-threatening injuries in the fall. Authorities have not yet determined the exact height from which he fell or the circumstances surrounding the incident. It remains unclear whether the fall was accidental or involved other factors.

The incident took place in one of San Francisco’s most prominent residential districts, known for its steep streets and historic architecture.
