A devastating family altercation in Fort Worth, Texas, has led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of his father. Authorities say the incident took place on April 23 near the Fort Worth Stockyards and has sent shockwaves through the local community.

According to a sworn police affidavit, the suspect, identified as Diego Osciel Castilleja, confessed to law enforcement that he stabbed his father, 34-year-old Diego Alberto Castilleja-Limon, during a heated moment following an intense family dispute.

The incident reportedly began at the family’s residence in the 2100 block of Prospect Avenue, where the younger Castilleja claimed he witnessed his father physically assaulting his mother during an argument. Tensions escalated when Castilleja-Limon accused his wife of infidelity and insisted on driving to confront the man he believed she was involved with.

Fatal Moment Near Railroad Crossing

As per the affidavit, the situation took a fatal turn when the father stopped the car at a railroad crossing near Samuels Avenue and Northeast 23rd Street. Seated in the back of the vehicle, Castilleja allegedly pulled a folding knife from his sweatshirt pocket and stabbed his father once on the right side of his neck.

Following the stabbing, the teen reportedly exited the vehicle and attempted to alert a nearby police patrol by waving it down. Authorities responded quickly to the scene.

Mother’s Statement and Aftermath

In statements to homicide detectives, Castilleja’s mother recounted that she noticed her son lean forward in his seat. At first glance, she believed he was embracing his father. However, the situation quickly turned dire as the father began to struggle. She intervened by grabbing her son's hand, disarming him, and dropping the knife inside the vehicle.

Despite being gravely wounded, the elder Castilleja drove off in the car and later abandoned it near NE Loop 820 and Blue Mound Road. He was eventually transported by a family member to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.
