Public Alert Issued in Washington as David Williford Escapes Supervision

Authorities in Washington state are urgently searching for a convicted sex offender who vanished after removing his GPS ankle monitor shortly after release from prison. The man, 37-year-old David Williford, has a disturbing criminal history that includes child sex offenses and documented acts of animal cruelty.

Williford was recently released from the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton on April 30 after serving 13 months in custody for a conviction of first-degree incest in Mason County. As part of his release, he was to remain under strict community supervision for 36 months. After initially complying and checking in with his assigned officer, Williford returned to his mother’s home in the North Admiral neighborhood of West Seattle. By that evening, he had cut off his GPS tracking device and disappeared.

Authorities say Williford's background raises serious concerns. His criminal record includes horrific acts, including the torture and killing of animals he obtained through Craigslist — in addition to his conviction involving a child. Due to his high-risk status, his sudden disappearance has prompted a region-wide alert and a public call for assistance.

Physically, Williford stands 6 feet tall and weighs around 190 pounds. He has a few identifiable features — notably, he’s missing the last joint of his right index finger. His tattoos include an infinity symbol and the words "Every Day" on his left hand, a puzzle piece on his left forearm, and four hash marks on his left wrist.

Law enforcement officers urge the public not to approach Williford if spotted. Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts is encouraged to contact local authorities immediately. There is also a cash reward being offered for information leading to his capture, and tips can be submitted anonymously through multiple channels.
