Gangster’s Swagger Cut Short as Pune Police Parade Tipu Pathan Through Hadapsar Streets

In a dramatic show of authority, Pune police marched gangster Rizwan alias Tipu Sattar Pathan and three of his associates through the streets of Hadapsar after arresting them in connection with an attempted land grab. The move wasn’t just about enforcement — it was a bold message to the public that intimidation and fear would no longer rule the neighborhood.

Pathan, known for his flashy antics, recently made headlines when a video of him tossing wads of cash during a qawwali event went viral. The public display of wealth raised eyebrows and led to his preventive detention under criminal force charges. He was sent to Yerwada Central Jail shortly after.

But that wasn’t the end of the story.

Earlier, a woman from Hadapsar filed a complaint accusing Pathan, his brother Ejaz, and others of threatening her and attempting to forcibly take over her property. The case took a serious turn as investigators began connecting the dots between Pathan's flashy persona and his alleged criminal dealings.

On Saturday, the police formally arrested him in the land-grab case and escorted him, along with his aides, back to Sayyad Nagar — the very area he once allegedly ruled with fear. Led by Senior Inspector Mansing Patil, the police team paraded the group in public view, signaling a major shift in how such cases will be handled going forward.

Residents watched as the gang members were walked through familiar streets, many visibly relieved to see action being taken. Authorities also took the opportunity to engage with locals, urging them to come forward if they had ever been threatened or harassed by Pathan or his crew.

This public crackdown marks a new chapter in Hadapsar’s ongoing struggle against local crime — one where silence is no longer the only option, and fear is being replaced by accountability.
