City Council Updates $125 Million Affordable Housing Funding Guidelines

In tandem with transit expansions, the Charlotte City Council Housing & Neighborhood Services Committee completed final reviews on updated scoring guidelines governing the city’s $125 million affordable housing bond fund. The revised criteria award top priority to residential proposals situated within a half-mile of high-frequency CATS bus and Lynx light rail stations.

The updated framework also carves out a specialized $25 million energy-efficiency allocation to subsidize heat pumps, rooftop solar, and building envelope retrofits for multi-family affordable developments.
