Man Found Fatally Shot After Vehicle Crashes into Tree in Southeast Houston
Homicide Investigation Launched Following Crash Scene Discovery
HOUSTON, Texas — A man was found fatally shot inside a vehicle after it crashed into a tree in southeast Houston on Tuesday, prompting Houston Police Department homicide detectives to open a full murder investigation.
Officers responded to emergency calls reporting a vehicle collision on Hickock Lane. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators discovered a male driver inside the vehicle suffering from multiple fatal gunshot wounds.
Detectives Recover Shell Casings at Hickock Lane Scene
Crime scene investigators recovered bullet casings near the crash site, leading police to determine that the shooting occurred prior to the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking the tree.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity pending family notification. Detectives are working to reconstruct the sequence of events, establish a motive, and identify suspects involved in the fatal shooting.
