Fatal Shooting at Fast-Food Restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho: Three Dead, Several Injured

TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- A tragic shooting at a recently opened In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls on Saturday resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to seven others. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, with police confirming he acted alone during the incident.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. in the busy southern Idaho city, where hundreds were present at the time. Authorities confirmed that both an off-duty state trooper and an armed civilian intervened by returning fire, aiding in diverting Williams from the crowded restaurant. Police Chief Matthew Hicks praised their bravery, stating, "We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties."

In total, three people lost their lives in the incident, which included a fast-food employee, as confirmed by In-N-Out's owner Lynsi Snyder. She expressed her sorrow in a heartfelt statement, mourning the loss and extending thoughts to the victims' families.

Of the injured, two were treated and released from the hospital while three others remain in stable condition, with two reported as critically injured. The aftermath has drawn significant public concern, prompting the FBI to call for any available videos or photos related to the shooting.

As investigators continue to probe Williams' motives, they also warned against misinformation circulating online about another individual allegedly linked to the event. Local law enforcement is actively interviewing witnesses, as the restaurant had just opened on July 24 as part of In-N-Out's expansion into Idaho.

Lane Koehn, who witnessed the shooting, recalled seeing chaos unfold as people fled and emergency responders arrived on the scene. Twin Falls spokesperson, Josh Palmer, indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and details about the victims remain pending as authorities work to notify relatives.
