Motorcyclist Hector Hernandez Killed in San Antonio Intersection Crash

A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning when 67-year-old motorcyclist Hector Hernandez lost his life at the intersection of West Commerce and Southwest 24th streets in San Antonio, Texas. The incident took place just before 1:30 a.m., according to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department.

Hernandez was traveling southbound on Southwest 24th Street after making a turn from West Commerce Street. Witnesses indicated that he had a flashing yellow signal light during the maneuver. However, a Ford vehicle heading eastbound on West Commerce, which possessed a protected green signal light, collided with him.

Emergency responders pronounced Hernandez dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford remained present throughout the incident and was subjected to an evaluation for intoxication, but police reported no signs of impairment.
