Skeletal Remains Discovered in Ellis County Under Investigation

Investigators are working to identify skeletal remains found on Monday, October 23, 2023, near Bell Branch Road and FM 876 in Italy, Texas. The Ellis County Sheriff's Office reported that the remains were discovered at approximately 2:49 p.m.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is currently tasked with determining the identity of the individual. The sheriff's office acknowledged ongoing speculation regarding a possible connection to a missing man reported to the Waxahachie Police Department.

In a statement, the Ellis County Sheriff's Office indicated that they are collaborating with Waxahachie police detectives and the family of the missing person to ascertain whether the remains belong to their loved one.
