Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead in Vallejo

Authorities in Solano County are investigating the death of a woman discovered near Interstate 80 in Vallejo on Monday afternoon. Officers responded to reports of a possible deceased person at the intersection of Georgia and Steffan streets shortly before 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the woman unresponsive in the interchange infield between Steffan Street and the interstate.

Firefighters pronounced her dead at the scene. The woman's identity has not been released as authorities await confirmation and notification of next of kin. The Solano County Coroner's Office has taken her body for further examination.

On Wednesday, the coroner determined that the victim had suffered blunt force trauma and succumbed to her injuries. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, which marks the seventh homicide in Vallejo this year.
