Two U.S. Soldiers from Texas and Hawaii Killed in Jordan Amid Iranian Attacks

Two U.S. Army soldiers, Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, were killed in Jordan during Iranian missile and drone strikes on Friday and Saturday, marking the first U.S. troop deaths from direct Iranian fire since the conflict began. Feehan, a first lieutenant assigned to Fort Bragg, will be posthumously promoted to captain and awarded multiple honors, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Gonzales, a private with the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, graduated from Hebron High School in 2022. A third service member is reported missing, with unidentified remains found and under examination.

The military confirmed that 17 service members have died in the ongoing war with Iran, which has escalated following the breakdown of peace talks. The conflict has seen American forces targeted despite not being directly engaged in Iran. U.S. Central Command reported an additional American soldier was killed in Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from an Iranian drone. The military is withholding further details until families are notified.
