Two U.S. Service Members Killed in Jordan Amid Iranian Attacks

Two U.S. service members were killed on Friday during an Iranian missile and drone attack in Jordan, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). Another service member is reported missing following the incident. The attack occurred as U.S. and partner forces were responding to the threat, although specific details regarding the location and circumstances have not been disclosed.

Four additional American service members were medically evacuated due to injuries but have since been discharged. CENTCOM has withheld the identities of the deceased service members until their families are notified. In response to the attack, the U.S. conducted airstrikes against Iranian targets on Saturday evening, aiming to weaken Iran's military capabilities and protect commercial shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz. This marks the eighth consecutive night of U.S. strikes against Iranian forces, which have included targeting military facilities and assets.
