Five individuals were hospitalized due to smoke-related injuries following an apartment fire in Commerce City, Colorado, early Tuesday morning. The South Adams County Fire Department responded to the incident at an apartment complex located at 62nd and Glencoe around 4:40 a.m.

Fire officials reported that the blaze was contained to a single unit, with the building's fire sprinkler system playing a crucial role in limiting the fire's spread and damage. The cause of the fire has been determined to be an e-bike.

Residents expressed concern over the lack of emergency communication from management during the incident. One resident, Riley Little, noted that there was no emergency number available for management, and attempts to contact maintenance and case managers went unanswered.

As of now, all five individuals who were taken to the hospital are receiving treatment for their injuries. The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
