Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Partially Reopens After Morning Hit-and-Run
A car crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu early Monday morning led to the closure of the roadway. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at approximately 3:20 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle that had collided with a power pole near Paradise Cove Road. According to Lt. Roman Foss, the incident was classified as a hit-and-run, with the driver and vehicle fleeing the area before law enforcement arrived.
By 5 p.m., the California Department of Transportation announced that one lane in each direction had been reopened after crews removed the downed power pole. However, the partial closure was expected to continue until 8 p.m. as Southern California Edison workers conducted repairs on the pole, as stated by Caltrans.
