Shooting in Jacksonville Claims Life of 4-Year-Old, Injures Mother and Toddler

A shooting incident in Jacksonville, Florida, resulted in the death of a 4-year-old girl and critical injuries to her mother and 2-year-old sister. The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday on Traci Lynn Drive, according to the Duval County Sheriff's Office.

The victims, identified as a 27-year-old woman and her two daughters, were found with gunshot wounds. The 4-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the mother and the younger child were transported to hospitals with life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery.

Authorities reported that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the woman and 29-year-old Trudale Reed, who allegedly fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene in a stolen SUV. Reed is the father of the two children.

Law enforcement later located the stolen vehicle and apprehended Reed, who sustained minor injuries during the arrest. He has been charged with second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, auto theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Reed is currently held at the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Center.
