Human Remains Discovered in Chimney of Queens School

Human remains were found in the chimney of PS 113, the Anthony Pranzo School, located in Glendale, Queens, around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, according to police. The remains were discovered by an exterminator who was responding to complaints of an odor inside the building.

The Medical Examiner's office is currently working to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death. A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Education stated that the situation is concerning and that support will be provided to the school community during the ongoing investigation by the NYPD. It was noted that no students were present at the school at the time, as it is closed for construction during the summer.
