Woman Killed and Two Injured in Phoenix Hit-and-Run Incident

A woman has died and two others sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash in Phoenix early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

According to police, the driver of a BMW fled the scene after colliding with a Toyota Camry driven by a 60-year-old woman, who was found with serious injuries and transported to a hospital. The pedestrian, who was struck by the BMW after the initial collision, was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the BMW was not located at the scene but was later discovered at his home with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital and will be booked for hit-and-run and other charges once medically cleared, police said. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
