Houston Reports Highest Crime Rate in Texas with Over 224,000 Offenses
Houston has been identified as the Texas city with the highest number of reported criminal offenses, totaling 224,334 according to the latest FBI crime data analysis. The report, which examined crime statistics across Texas, categorized offenses into crimes against persons, property, and society.
In Houston, property crimes accounted for nearly two-thirds of all recorded offenses, with 138,943 incidents reported. Following Houston, San Antonio reported 153,599 total offenses, including 33,417 crimes against persons and 107,366 crimes against property.
Dallas recorded 99,793 total offenses, with 26,632 crimes against persons and 59,805 crimes against property. Austin had 70,988 total offenses, while Fort Worth reported 54,287. Other cities such as El Paso, Corpus Christi, and Arlington also reported significant numbers of offenses, with El Paso at 30,826 and Corpus Christi at 29,263.
The analysis was conducted by Compare the Market, which utilized FBI crime statistics to rank Texas cities based on their total number of reported offenses.
