Authorities Seize Over 800 Pounds of Meth in Palmdale Drug Lab Bust
An investigation into illegal dumping in Palmdale led to the discovery of a large methamphetamine laboratory, resulting in the seizure of over 800 pounds of meth and the arrest of a suspect. On Wednesday, Palmdale Code Enforcement Officers responded to reports of illegal dumping and uncovered hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine, prompting further investigation.
Authorities described the operation as sophisticated, located near 110th Street East and Avenue M-8. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Narcotics Bureau and the Los Angeles Police Department executed the enforcement action, seizing both crystal and liquid methamphetamine.
One suspect, 22-year-old Alejandro Hernandez Gutierrez from Mexico, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance. Additional search warrants were obtained and served as the investigation continues.
Mayor Eric Ohlsen emphasized the importance of the Code Enforcement team's work in protecting local neighborhoods, stating that the investigation led to the removal of a significant amount of dangerous drugs from the community.
