Teen in Critical Condition Following Lake Washington Water Rescue
A water rescue at Mount Baker Park Beach Fishing Pier on Lake Washington Boulevard South resulted in a teenager being hospitalized in critical condition on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services responded to reports of a missing person who had jumped off a dock into the water.
Seattle Fire crews arrived at the scene around 3:55 p.m. and deployed rescue swimmers who located the individual. The teenager was brought to shore within minutes and received immediate medical attention. By 3:57 p.m., paramedics had taken over care, and the patient was transported to a hospital shortly thereafter.
As of 4:16 p.m., Seattle Fire confirmed that the teenager remained in critical condition during transport. The incident occurred amid a heatwave affecting the region, prompting increased activity at local waterways.
